Congratulations Class of 2024

Congratulations Class of 2024

Everyone here at The Savings Bank would like to wish all the 2024 graduates sincere congratulations and best wishes for the future. We know the next step on your journey can sometimes be daunting, but your community and the people who care for you will be there to guide the way.

For many recent graduates, it will be the first time they are financially on their own, and that can lead to feelings of uncertainty and fear. However, there are many resources at your disposal, especially within your community, that can improve financial awareness.

First, ask around about programs aimed at improving financial literacy. Remember: If you are struggling with understanding credit, budgeting, or planning for future expenses, you are not alone! Many recent graduates struggle with increased financial responsibility. Libraries are great resources, not just for the books they house. While books on financial literacy can be helpful, libraries often partner with local financial institutions to help people learn more from professionals. They will often offer free classes or presentations on financial topics.

Next, get curious! Many online programs offered by the FDIC and your Secretary of State can help you gauge your financial literacy and fill in any gaps. These programs offer helpful advice for people at all stages of their financial journey. Even better, these programs are self-paced and provided at no cost. Here is a great financial literacy portal from the FDIC to get your started: https://www.fdic.gov/resources/consumers/money-smart/index.html.

Lastly, take advantage of the services your community bank provides! Something as simple as educating yourself on the different account offerings of your local bank can make a huge difference. Meet with an account specialist to learn about which accounts may be right for you. Many financial institutions offer student accounts tailor made for the unique needs of younger adults. Furthermore, many financial institutions have blogs, social media pages, and other educational tools that can help improve financial literacy. Our SmartBanking Talk blog features many posts on financial literacy such as Managing Your Accounts and How to Properly Use Mobile Payment Apps. Visit the blog at TheSavingsBankOhio.bank/blog.

Graduation is an exciting time and we here at The Savings Bank hope you will allow us to be a part of your financial journey moving forward. Whether you are looking for account services, convenient mobile banking, or financial literacy education, we hope to offer you the resources you need to succeed. If you have any questions about our offerings, please visit TheSavingsBankOhio.bank or come in to one of our offices to say hello! Congratulations, Class of 2024!
