Setting Goals for this Fall

Setting Goals for this Fall

Fall is finally here! The start of a new season can be a great time to assess where you’ve been, where you are, and where you’re going. Fall is a season of change, and with just over three months left in the year, the fall months might even be the perfect time to start trying out what you might want to improve in the new year.

If you would like a health goal to focus on, here are some ideas that can improve your physical and mental health.

                Meal Prepping

Meal prepping can be very beneficial for your health and your wallet, but prepping an entire week’s worth of food takes practice. Instead of going all out immediately, you might start by prepping a menu for the week and writing down a comprehensive grocery list before you go.

                New Fitness Routine

Starting out with a comprehensive strength training and cardio regime may be too overwhelming depending on your current level of activity. To begin, consider committing instead to a twenty-minute walk every day or to a twenty-minute weight training session. If this doesn’t fit your schedule during the week, perhaps you commit a speed cleaning session to knock two items off your list at once.

Financial Goals are also great to think about, especially as holiday shopping waits just around the corner.

                Re-Do Your Budget

The holidays can get expensive. Gifts, school, and colder weather all mean added expenses. Take the time to reassess your budget. Consider any new financial wants and commitments since your last budget review.

                Create Long-Term Goals

It is essential to plan early for how you will accomplish your long-term financial goals, and these can take years and even decades to fulfill. Reassess your plan based on your current circumstances or work with a financial advisor to create a new plan. Creating an extensive proposal can take some time, so it is best to start well in advance.

Or perhaps you’re looking for personal growth this fall? Personal growth goals will be different for everyone and require in-depth reflection on what you feel may be lacking in your life.

                Create a Book Goal

Reading is an excellent tool for personal growth. Read at your normal pace for the next few months so that you can set a realistic yearlong goal for yourself this winter.

                Bucket List

Come up with several ideas that interest you, such as going to a pumpkin patch, attending a local festival, or decorating for the holidays. Accomplishing smaller goals over the next few months will help you gain confidence for making even bigger ones in the new year.

Spend More Time with Loved Ones

If you feel like you would benefit from spending more time with loved ones, start small by gathering for an apple pick or meeting for a hot beverage at your favorite café. This way you all can learn each other’s schedules and make plans to expand your quality time this winter.

No goal is too small or too insignificant! What goals are you planning to set for this fall and beyond?
